Workshop Description:

The workshop “How to Select a Research Topic with the Help of AI with a Focus on SDGs” highlights the critical importance of understanding the ways, means, and criteria for selecting an appropriate research topic in the first place. Participants will explore how a well-chosen topic forms the foundation of a successful research journey and ensures alignment with academic relevance and global needs. 

The session then introduces how Artificial Intelligence can be effectively utilized to further refine, evaluate, and support topic development by identifying research gaps, analyzing trends, and connecting ideas to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By the end of the workshop, participants will be equipped with both conceptual clarity and practical AI-driven techniques to choose and enhance research topics that are meaningful, innovative, and sustainable.

Speaker: Dr. Syed Haider Ali Shah

Dr. Syed Haider Ali Shah is an Associate Professor at the Department of Business Administration, Abdullah Gül University, Turkey. With over 11 years of combined academic and industry experience, he brings rich expertise and a dynamic perspective to his teaching and training.

Previously, Dr. Shah served as an Associate Professor at Bahria Business School, Bahria University Islamabad, Pakistan, where he dedicated 8 years to teaching, research, and academic leadership. He earned his PhD from the University of Malaya, Malaysia, specializing in Human Resource Practices, Leadership, and Management. His research interests span Green HR Practices, Organizational Behavior, Sustainability, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Talent Management, CSR, and Pro-Environmental Behavior.

Dr. Shah has an impressive record of research publications in impact factor journals, including those indexed in ABDC, ABS, Scopus, and HEC-recognized journals. He has actively contributed to the academic community by presenting papers at numerous national and international conferences, where he has also chaired sessions and served as a reviewer for reputed journals.

In addition to academia, Dr. Shah is actively engaged in professional training and capacity-building workshops, both nationally and internationally. His passion for knowledge-sharing and applied research enables him to bridge the gap between theory and practice, making his sessions highly interactive, insightful, and impactful.

Workshop Description:

This workshop introduces participants to cutting-edge AI tools that transform the way researchers discover, explore, and comprehend scholarly literature. Participants will learn how to leverage Research Rabbit, Connected Papers, Inciteful, and Litmaps for smart literature mapping and visualization, and explore Elicit.ai, Consensus, Perplexity, and Meta AI for semantic and AI-driven literature searches. The session will also cover AI applications that enhance the reading and understanding of academic articles, helping researchers save time while improving the depth and breadth of their literature reviews.

Speaker: Dr. Rab Nawaz Lodhi

Dr. Rab Nawaz Lodhi is an Associate Professor at Hailey College of Commerce, University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan. He is also a Senior Research Fellow at Virscend University, California, USA. He did his PhD in Management Sciences from Bahria University and a Post Doctorate from the M3 Center of Muma College of Business, University of South Florida, USA. Previously, he served as Chairman of UE Business School at the University of Education, Lahore, Pakistan. He has contributed significantly to academia with over 100 research publications, many in impact factor journals. He also has good proficiency in qualitative and quantitative data analysis tools including NVivo, Atlas- ti, SPSS, AMOS, SmartPLS, and MPlus. He has trained over 7000 MS/PhD students, lecturers, and professors across 90+ universities globally. His area of interest includes e-Business, ERP Systems, Business Intelligence and Big Data Analytics.
